What is a Domain Name?
A domain name is basically the linguistic expression of the numerical form of website addresses.
So whether you take Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter or just about any other website, you will find that even though we know them by their generic names in the English language, they actually happen to have a certain numeric name or form as well, which is expressed in digits.
It is just that it is really tough to recall such a domain name and that is the reason, they are assigned generic names. When you type in that generic name into your web browser and press ‘Enter’, what happens is that the browser then begins work on your requirement, ensuring that the domain name is then processed as per its numeric name, subsequently providing the requisite information as available on the website, to the concerned user.
At your end, you really need to be less concerned about numeric domain names and focus on the generic ones.
